Capek, Josef. A collection of book covers. (The Hague, Vloemans Antiquarian Books, 2008). A collection of 178 front covers of books, for the greater part original linocuts, designed by Josef Capek between 1919 and 1945, all in passe-partout. A catalogue, illustrating all covers, is available at Euro 25 + postage: 34 pp., with 178 coloured illustrations. With a short introduction by John A. Vloemans, including a portrait of Josef Capek (photo Dritikol 1922). The former owner of this book cover collection has carefully detached the front covers of 178 books with cover design by Josef Capek and preserved them in simple passe-partouts made of thin grey cardboard. Almost all these covers are original, coloured linocuts. The catalogue depicts, in chronological order, all of them. Each cover is identified, referring to the bibliography by Vl. Thiele "Josef Capek a kniha. Soupis knizni graficky. (Josef Capek and the book. A bibliography of his book art). Praha, Nakladatelstvo ceskoslovenských výtvarných umelcù, 1958".
